The Thirsty Compass ("the app") is operated by Wiley Web Services ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles and how. We built the app to need as little of your data as possible.

Location. If you allow it, the app uses your device's location (latitude and longitude) to find happy hours near you. Your coordinates are sent to our servers only to return nearby results for that request. We do not link your location to an identity, build a profile, or track your movements over time. You can use the app without sharing location — it falls back to a default city.

No accounts. The app has no login or sign-up. We do not collect your name, email address, password, or any account information.

No analytics or tracking. We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs. We do not sell or share your information with advertisers.

Location is used solely to return bars and happy hours near the point you're searching from. That's it.

To power maps and place data, the app uses Google Maps Platform, and our servers query the Google Places API. When the app shows a map or looks up nearby places, the relevant location data is processed by Google under their terms. Our backend is hosted on Amazon Web Services. These providers process data only to deliver the app's core features.

We do not store your location as part of any user record. Routine server logs may briefly contain request details (including the coordinates used for a search) for security and operational purposes, and are retained only for a short period.

The app is intended for users of legal drinking age (21+) in the United States and is not directed to children.

You can turn location access on or off at any time in your device settings. The app remains usable without it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
